Faculty of Medicine
Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

Founded in 1887, the Faculty's Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology is one of the oldest and largest such departments in North America, with about 85 faculty members, 100 graduate students and 300 undergraduate students. Our research, education and training/mentorship activities focus on understanding and improving the beneficial effects, and reducing the adverse effects of medications and other foreign chemicals in the body. The Department's current directed fundraising activities reflect our core goals to enhance the student experience, to recognize research, teaching and learning excellence in our faculty and students, and to enable novel research discoveries in pharmacology and toxicology.
