Department of Radiation Oncology

The Department of Radiation Oncology is actively engaged in the education and professional training of undergraduates, graduates, and post-graduates in the field of radiation medicine. It is the largest department of its kind in Canada, and attracts leading faculty who are involved in advancing radiation medicine and have made significant contributions to the field. As an academic unit within the Faculty of Medicine, the Department of Radiation Oncology is fully affiliated with University of Toronto teaching hospitals.

The B.J. Cummings Award

Awarded to a trainee who has demonstrated sustained excellence in research in radiation medicine.

The Pamela Catton Award for Inter-Professional Education and Care

This award will be given annually to a member of the UT-DRO (Trainee or Faculty) who has demonstrated significant innovations in IPE and clinical care.

Scholarships at Department of Radiation Oncology

Merit-based entrance scholarships for our Undergraduate, Graduate, Residency and Fellowship programs.

The Rising Star Award

The Rising Star Research Award recognizes a University of Toronto Department of Radiation Oncology (UTDRO) faculty member within the first five years of his/her appointment to UTDRO who has demonstrated outstanding ability, innovation, and originality in his/her research and the potential for sustained excellence in radiation oncology research.

The Excellence Fund

To support strategic initiatives that will accelerate the excellence in delivery, care, and discovery within Radiation Medicine. Expenditures will be at the discretion of the Chair.

Department of Radiation Oncology General Fund

Funds allocated to the strategic operations of the department. Eg: Recruitment
