Faculty of Medicine
Department of Speech-Language Pathology

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology is dedicated to the study, assessment and treatment of communications disorders across the lifespan. Areas of focus range from swallowing and stuttering to problems that arise with the voice and speech motor system.

Our researchers study the prevalence of speech disorders in populations, and then devise screening tests, working closely with health care providers who administer them. Our experts also develop tailored therapies to help individuals articulate themselves, and help family members and professional caregivers better understand the people they care for.
