Faculty of Law
Class of 1991 Bursary
Since we graduated, the cost of tuition at the law school has been steadily increasing to ensure the highest quality legal education. At the same time, there has been more than a 30% real decline in government and other sources of funding. Although such increases have been necessary, the concern is that qualified and capable students from modest socio-economic backgrounds might be precluded, for financial reasons alone, from studying at the law school.
With epic optimism, we are setting our goal for the Class of 1991 Bursary Fund at $200,000 to ensure that the most deserving and qualified students are able to attend U of T Law, regardless of their financial background. In so doing, we will advance our commitment to social justice by significantly helping to ensure that no student will be obliged to decline an offer of admission to the Law School due to financial need.
In order to reach our goal, participation will be key and not just at the higher giving levels. With almost 180 in our class, we are confident that with a high participation rate, we will easily achieve and possibly surpass our goal.
Thank you for your support.
