The Entrepreneurship Hatchery
The Entrepreneurship Hatchery is one of the University of Toronto's largest and most successful accelerators, with more than 65 startups launched since its creation in 2012. Hatchery-born products range from robotic exoskeletons to help provide physiotherapy to children with disabilities, to electronic 'smart skin' that helps surgeons reduce errors during surgery, to low-cost microsatellites.
The Hatchery provides a supportive yet challenging environment in which students experience the uncertainty, limited resources and significant effort inherent in creating new companies and bringing a product to market. We provide an advisory board to each startup that encourages students to develop and redevelop their ideas, and to understand how they can improve their business models and evolve towards success. In addition to its undergraduate Hatchery Nest and graduate Hatchery LaunchLab startup development programs, the Hatchery also provides weekly Idea Markets, the Hatchery Speaker Series, Accelerator Weekend and the Hatchery Hackathon for those students interested in dipping a toe in the entrepreneurship waters.
Your support will provide much-needed funding for our Nest and LaunchLab programs and other activities.
