Dalla Lana School of Public Health
Outreach and Access Program
Dalla Lana School of Public Health has established a multi-faceted program to encourage upper-level high-school students from under-represented communities in the Toronto region to learn more about public health and consider careers and leaderships positions in the public health and health care system. This includes collaborating with youth, local schools and organizations in communities with marginalized populations.
The Outreach and Access program will support a variety of programming in schools such as mentoring, UofT campus visits, workshops, immersive experiences, student-led community initiatives with guidance from DLSPH faculty, and hands-on experiences outside of the classroom. Additionally, the program will assist students who enter the University of Toronto as undergraduates with components such as on-going mentoring, scholarships, and additional support to be prepared for careers in public health and health systems.
