Faculty of Arts & Science
Department of Italian Studies
U of T's Department of Italian Studies is among the very few in North America to offer a full range of undergraduate and graduate specializations in Italian literature and linguistics. Almost 1,400 undergraduate and 40 graduate students are taught by faculty who rank among the leading scholars in the field. The department's close ties with the Centre for Comparative Literature, the Centre for Medieval Studies, the McLuhan program, Cinema Studies and the Centre for Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies, as well as the Renaissance and semiotics programs, open up even more young scholars to this fascinating and influential civilization. A popular summer program in Siena immerses students in the rich Italian culture while they earn university credits. Your gift will help foster a vibrant educational experience for students of Italian.
